Under limited supervision, the Animal Resources Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Animal Resources Manager in the coordination and management of the day to day operations in animal husbandry.  The AR Supervisor provides oversight for lower level employees to include training, performance management and onboarding.  The AR supervisor will perform facility inspections and assist in all areas of animal husbandry on an as needed basis, and perform all related duties and tasks as required or assigned.   The AR Supervisor will also be responsible for responding to environmental monitoring systems in the animal facility, procurement of feed and bedding materials, maintaining detailed records, collection of animal census data and other duties as assigned to facilitate quality research.

Under general supervision of Comparative Medicine Management and/or staff veterinarians, cares for animals and cleans facilities used in experimental and breeding colonies. CMAR Technicians provide daily husbandry of laboratory animals to include (but not limited to) observation of animals, handling and restraint, feeding and watering, changing cages/racks, and sanitizing animal quarters and equipment for multiple species.  Operates and/or use supplies and equipment necessary to perform the husbandry duties.   Provides daily record keeping for animals and room environments in accordance with LBRI quality assurance standards and regulations. Will maintain cleanliness of the cage wash area, warehouse, diet kitchen and any animal equipment storage areas. Outstanding Communication skills and the ability to work harmoniously with team members and all professionals is a must.  This is an entry level position that does not require previous animal handling or cleaning experience.  

Reporting to Veterinary staff and under limited direction, the Behavioral Management Services Supervisor will oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operations of Lovelace Biomedical's research animal behavioral and enrichment programs.   Will be responsible for developing, implementing, updating and maintaining the Institute's Behavioral Management and Enrichment Program which includes overseeing and training staff on a variety of techniques and practices; designing, implementing and analyzing animal behavior experiments; working with veterinary and animal care staff to develop appropriate practices and protocols for the appropriate care of a variety of research animal species; collecting data and performing statistical analysis on a variety of data in support of behavioral service interventions and research projects; and performing all other related duties and tasks as required or assigned.   The Supervisor will also be responsible for ensuring all aspects of the Program are compliant with the USDA Animal Welfare Regulations, PHS Policy, and the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals.

Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute is seeking a Biosafety Officer who will be responsible for protecting the Institute’s employees, contractors, visitors, the general public and the environment from potential exposures to Select Agents and Toxins; and to ensure that the Institute maintains full compliance with both the letter and the spirit of the Select Agents and Toxins regulations as well as all other applicable governmental regulations and guidelines, and internal requirements.    The Biosafety Officer will also serve as Responsible Official (RO).  As RO, will ensure compliance with all aspects of the Institute’s Select Agent Program in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Select Agents and Toxins regulations.  Will develop and implement supporting health and safety programs.  Will be responsible for reviewing and updating the Institute’s Select Agents Biosafety and Chemical Hygiene Plan, Security Plan and Incident and Emergency Response Plan.    Will review research projects involving human and animal pathogens or biological toxins, including select agents, recombinant DNA, transgenic plants and animals and advises researchers regarding appropriate biocontainment levels, safety practices and applicable regulatory guidelines. Provides assistance to researchers in obtaining and maintaining any required import or interstate transport permits for biological materials to be used at LBRI and transports infectious materials between campuses as needed, and perform all other related duties and tasks as required or assigned.

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Non-Clinical Drug Development and with limited direction, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for sales and marketing support for the Lovelace brand as it works to expand its efforts as a Contract Research Organization.   The Business Development Manager will work to uncover and cultivate business opportunities to generate revenue predominately via contact with potential and existing clients. They will also assist with follow-up on critical issues to complete quotes and promote positive customer experiences. The primary focus areas will be to assist in identifying, stewarding and securing business opportunities in chemistry, bioanalysis, toxicology, pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, ADME/PK, program management services, and all other related Lovelace research areas as directed by Lovelace Leadership, and perform all other related duties and tasks as required or assigned.   Responsibilities include: - Assist in business development efforts as defined by annual and quarterly business development strategy to grow revenue. - Support Marketing, Sales and SMEs to analyze the market, identify opportunities and industry trends - Prospect for new accounts and business that would benefit from Lovelace services by geography, service platform or stage of growth. - Present existing services to potential and existing clients, primarily through email, phone, skype and/or web meetings. - Engage with clients to provide and follow up with proposals, including disseminating information internally, following up with clients and taking necessary steps to facilitate close. - Coordinate timely visits to well-qualified prospective or current accounts for the sales team - Support marketing efforts, including generating content, developing collateral, coordinating e-blasts, social media, etc. - Track all efforts on salesforce.com; assist with database management and business analytic reporting (designing / running reports; developing dashboards, etc.). - Attend trade shows and sales meetings as required. 

Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute is seeking a Client Services Coordinator to support the Institute's Business Development operations.   The Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Business Development team in servicing Client accounts and will act as a liaison between Lovelace Biomedical and its Commercial Clients throughout the prospecting, award, and study closure stages. The position will be responsible for overseeing the life cycle of a scientific program with the Scientific Operations staff from start to finish driven by a clear understanding of both Client and CRO needs and expectations, and perform all other related duties and tasks as required or assigned.   The Client Services Coordinator may also take on specific tasks such as marketing coordination or pricing which are early components in the Pre-Award phase of business.

Reporting to the Director of Research Administration and under limited direction, the Contracts Manager – Federal Contracts and Compliance, will oversee end-to-end contract management for the Institute and manage daily operations for all federal contracts and compliance of the Office of Research Contracts (ORC).   The Contracts Manager - Federal Contracts and Compliance will work closely with LBRI administrative leadership and scientific teams to oversee efficient operations of the Institute’s federal contracting process to include both pre- and post-award management and compliance reporting.  Will perform contract and subcontract administration in accordance with established policies and procedures, develop proposals, implement project controls, facilitate and manage effective internal and external client relationships, continuously analyze LBRI’s contractual risks and implement policies and practices to mitigate risk, research contract/new business opportunities, and perform all other related duties and tasks as required or assigned.   Will be expected to both oversee work on all aspects of federal contract development, administration and execution including reviewing solicitations, developing internal analysis of contracting opportunities, and completing proposals to include drafting and reviewing all of the following: developing rates, pricing, basis of estimates, standard forms, narratives and all other related items.  The Contracts Manager will be responsible for participating in and monitoring LBRI’s ongoing performance on federal contracts to ensure adherence to contract terms and conditions, request contract modifications as needed, work with Federal agencies on contract closeouts and will prepare regular and ad-hoc reports as needed.   Will oversee external audits relating to LBRI’s federal contract work including GSA, Federal, HHS and DCA audits and prepare and file all necessary governmental regulatory reports and plans.   The Manager will also oversee the daily operations of the LBRI Office of Research Contracts.  Will work closely with the Director of Research Administration and other staff to identify staffing needs and available expertise, provide leadership and mentoring to all department staff, and work with the Human Resources Department as needed on performance evaluations, training and development of staff.

Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute is currently seeking a Electrical Maintenance Technician III to join the Institute’s Facilities Team.   Under direct supervision, the Electrical Maintenance Technician III will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing central plant equipment.  This includes electricial, centrifugal chillers, air compressors vacuum pumps and associated support equipment. The individual will also assist with plumbing and other related duties and tasks as required or assigned.   Will be required to respond in a timely fashion to a variety of alarms to include equipment monitoring systems, HVAC alarms, IT system alarms, and all other related types of notifications.  A New Mexico license or a reciprocal state EE-98J is required.       Work Schedule is Tuesday - Saturday from 6:30 am - 3:00 pm.

Under general supervision, the EH&S Technician will support the institute in the areas of environmental safety and health ensuring compliance with city, state and federal regulations. The EH&S Technician will conduct radiation surveys and conduct radiation training for employees. Performs noise surveys and laboratory safety inspections. Collects, analyzes, ships and packs samples. The EH&S Technician will collect, sort and prepare wastes for disposal. Will be responsible for maintaining equipment for emergencies and will respond to accidents such as spills, fires, and falls.

The Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute is currently a seeking swing shift Maintenance Worker III HVAC to join the Institute’s Facilities Team.   Under direct supervision, the Maintenance Worker III HVAC will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing central plant equipment.  This includes heating hot water boilers, steam boilers, centrifugal chillers, air compressors vacuum pumps and associated support equipment.  The individual will also assist with plumbing, HVAC repairs and other related duties and tasks as required or assigned.   Will be required to respond in a timely fashion to a variety of alarms to include equipment monitoring systems, HVAC alarms, IT system alarms, and all other related types of notifications.   This is a Swing Shift position hours: 2:30pm -11:00pm Thursday thru Monday Off Tuesday and Wednesday.

Assist in study execution; collects samples from and administers agents to research animals as IACUC approved studies require. Works with a variety of animal species and tasks will involve both in-vivo and in-vitro procedures. Documents laboratory work to acceptable standards and maintains laboratory/medical equipment and supplies in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), protocols and regulations. The successful candidate will assist in administrative functions of study execution such as labeling collection tubes and transporting supplies to appropriate area.

Under general supervision, the Maintenance Worker II must be a self-starter and will be responsible for the following job duties:  Metal working; welding (stainless steel), constructing sheet metal fabrications and machining with manual machines (mill, lathe, band saws, etc.). Service, maintain and repair commercial/industrial (HVAC) air handling equipment.  Perform architectural work; renovations, painting, carpentry, building repairs and preventive maintenance to building structures. Service and repair commercial refrigeration equipment and perform all other related duties and tasks as required or assigned.    Will be required to respond in a timely fashion to a variety of alarms to include equipment monitoring systems, HVAC alarms, IT system alarms, and all other related types of notifications.   Work Schedule is Tuesday - Saturday from 6:30 am - 3:00 pm.
